    SON'S ART

#3 son has been doing Distance Education this year. One of his subjects is ART with his teacher being a very enthusiastic artist and successful illustrator. A tight and overloaded timetable and a disinclination to DO ART meant that my son didn't get any practical work done until the last two weeks.  Thrown in at the 'deep end' he took brush to acrylics, oils, watercolours and experimented with collaging, printing, stencilling, layering etc. By the second day he was on a roll.  I have included some of his pieces below.  He was inspired by the tutorials on the  LAYERS UPON LAYERS  website by  Cyndi Lavin   http://www.layersuponlayers.com/.

The most amazing thing happened...........he SOLD one of his pieces to the state's Education Department for their new art gallery.  They paid him $50 .

He was so surprised and thrilled.  This is the piece below: Homeland 2

Varied background papers painted with oils, watercolours and vinyls

The pieces are done on a background of A4 watercolour paper.

      Below is  ' Fall'.

    The red piece is 'Torn'.

The bird is 'quiet'.  The next is " Rivers Run'.

Below is 'Harvest'. The next id 'Desert Pond'.

Below is 'Landscape Grafitti'.  The green is 'Mangrove Life'.

The gold is 'Homeland 1'.  The dolphins is 'Look at Me'.

Wow, his art is very beautiful, Kitty. "Fall" and "Look at me" lean more towards collage while the others I think are watercolor. They're all very vibrant and full of life. Sheesh, this new Live Space doesn't notify me of new journals, so I'm sorry I missed this earlier. Your son's very talented, Kitty, and I hope he's able to nurture it into something great. :D
